Having an automobile sitting in your driveway or in front of your house with a business advertisement on the vehicle shows neighbors and others driving by who is at your home and what is going on.
Should a business advertise their business services or products on vehicles? Absolutely! I think it is a great advertising option.
… but when it comes to my pet sitting business, although I would love to advertise this way, I have chosen not to as it is a dead giveaway that no one is home.
Pet sitters take care of pets 99% of the time when owners are out of town. I do not want to leave a calling card for that wrong individual, so to protect my customers, I remain incognito.
Why hire a professional when you can call on friends and family…
Pet Sitters International recommends you hire somebody that is fully licensed and has business liability insurance – this protects you and your pets.
Angie Hicks, founder of Angie’s List reminds her subscribers “It’s not just your pets you are going to entrust to a stranger. It is your home too.” You want a person who you can trust to take care of your home or any problems that might arise during your absence.
You definitely want someone who connects with your pets and who is focused on their needs.
Ultimately you want to come home to happy, healthy pets, and return to your home as you left it.
